In August of 2015 a group of performing-artists with backgrounds at the Juilliard School in New York were embedded at Garden City High School. The artists would work with the students in workshops, masterclasses, private instruction and rehearsal to give them a closer understanding of the performing arts. Students from the school were given the opportunity to analyze poetry, participate in the performing arts, and to explore how combining them could affect the meaning of the text. The written reactions to the results of the daily collaborations were ultimately used as the center-piece of the set-design for a public performance with the students and Juilliard artists.
